Health and Wellness Committee of Crawford County, KS announced Kendall Packaging as the 2012 recipient of the Live Well Apple Award.
The Apple Awards were created to recognize individuals and businesses which have positively impacted the health and wellness of the county. Recipients have been instrumental in creating programming or opportunities for people to implement healthy lifestyle changes, according to Joanna Rhodes, Live Well coordinator.
Kendall Packaging started a Wellness Program for its employees in 2008 and has a company come on site to conduct health risk assessments. Kendall holds wellness challenges between the two plants and the corporate headquarters and between employees at each location. Challenges include losing weight, quitting smoking, and eating and exercising right.
